Providing food security for orphaned children, vulnerable families, TB, HIV Positive people and AIDS sufferers.
We help alleviate poverty through food security and build human capacity
Through government support programmes, we provide training, mentorship and create employment opportunities to unemployed township and rural communities especially Women and Youth.
Khulanathi Community Development was formally registered as a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) in 2011 with NPO number 123-879 NPO. The organization was founded in 2011 by Mr. France Nhlapo. Mr. Nhlapo’s drive was ignited by the conditions that poor communities are exposed to and the negative reception that people leaving with chronic diseases receive from the communities at large. Some of these communities are abused daily even by family male members and neighbors, forced marriages for young children, women beaten all the time by their abusive husbands, rape, and other forms of sexual assaults of young children and women, unemployed TB, HIV positive people and AIDS sufferers who most of the time went to bed on empty stomachs and yet were expected to take treatment.
We started to act and approached various funders, sponsors and individuals for support and most of them responded positively and promptly committed themselves to provide groceries to Khulanathi monthly to ensure food security for orphaned children, vulnerable families, TB, HIV Positive people and AIDS sufferers.
As an organization, we support the simultaneous development of people and livelihoods in resource-scarce contexts, particularly in rural and township areas. Through well-integrated, field-based interventions, Khulanathi leverages local economic development activities and the establishment of appropriate institutions like Government, Private Companies, Donors, etc. to help alleviate poverty through food security and build human capacity.
